Living Room Update : Sorbet Hues and Gallery Wall

Dear blogfriends!

I am emerging from my inspiration coma? I don't know, but yesterday, I had a day off and I finally overcame my paralysis and dared to make some holes in my wall!

Do you remember how was the styling before?
Cute. I really liked it and this pic has even got some success on Pinterest.
But I was sick of it!

So, a few week ago, inspired by Orlando Soria's styling, I tried this :

It was ok (except those wire!!!)

But then, a few days later, we got our new table...
And, gosh, it is WHITE!

For some days (weeks), I HATED it!

It was super drab and those chairs (that I do like) are really not working with it.
(Just a few more weeks to get the new chairs, hopefully!)

So Yesterday, I collected arts and pics.

It needed some "peps", so I grabbed a brush and some paint...

1. This is the first look :

I think it's nice but the neon pink art is hung to high.

2. Second look :

3. Third look :

Which one do you prefer? (The art above the piano is supposed to be changed, of course).

(The cushions are from Hema).

By the way, I have to present you new comers...

This vintage Vener Panton lamp (from ebay, but the tension needs to be fixed) :

And this knitted pouf from Hema!

Dreaming Of My Balcony

Dear blogfriends!

I hope you are fine and enjoyed the nice temperature yesterday! You better did, since we won't be enjoying them in the next days...

Anyway, I want to tackle my balcony this WE so it'll be ready when the sun comes back!

I am so inspired by these very nice and simple balconies styled by Sarah Widman!

Isn't it just perfect!

Dude Design Week : "Tailored Warm Modernish"

Dear blogfriends,

This week has been totally crazy busy for me. Thanks god it's Friday!

My "Dude Design Week" has been a bit minimalistic!

However, today, I'd like to share pics of this simple, informal, yet refined interior that has very cool masculine vibes!

I've always though vintage exhibition print were very masculine.

Also danish armchairs and these vintage canned dinning chairs (also seen in Hank Moody's Apartment = totally dude design)

Again : black and white kitchen with subway tiles

Dude Design Week : Elements of Dude Design

Dear blogfriends,

Today's post shows how to include masculine elements in an interior.

Those elements can be used either to balance a room with lots of feminine elements (pinks, curbs, lace, mirrors, etc.) or used combined with other masculine elements or neutrals to create a space with lots of testosterone.

1. Leather sofas

Leather sofas are a very good example of masculine elements.

Mixed with feminine elements (round tables, rug with hint of pink) like in the room below, it creates a very balanced space.

But used with (almost exclusively) other masculine elements, it creates a very warm, strong and masculine space.

2. Mid-century pieces

Mid-century furniture has straight and clean lines (no ornaments and curbs). I think it's why I love this style so much!

You can style a mid-century console will never look toooo girly (even surounded by golden peonies!!!)

3. Rich and textured fabrics

Tweed, velvet, flanel...

4. Subway Tiles

I know subway tiles are not so specifically masculine. However, it really makes those spaces very masculine (especially mixed with these velvet stools below) :

5. Strong Animals

It's sounds cliché but kittens are for nurseries, beautiful and gracious birds for woman and buffalos and crocodiles for men.

Dude Design Week : Orlando Soria's Apartment

Dear blogfriends!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sunny weather!

This week I'd like to be more present on the blog and I though about a thematic week to get back on tracks.

I'm getting a bit tired of pastel shades, pinks and girly stuffs, so I'll be dedicating this week to dude design.

So let's start with Orlando Soria's very cool pad.

Orlando is a painter and works with Emily Henderson as principle designer. Emily is my favorite designer and collaborates with awesome talented people (like Bethany Nauert).

I love the blue-grey color palette and the mid-century vibes of this apartment.

I'll write a post on dude design's elements this week. For the moment, I just want to set the mood.

Sneak Peeking the Ikea Styling of These Videos

Hi,

Allo? Has it been a week since my last post? Allo?

I've been both totally lazy at blogging and busy with work this week. I'm sorry.

I know this is the second Ikea posts in a row, but I really like their styling right now : right in the pastel mood.
It tottally does feel like spring!

I still need to check their Stockholm collection in person, but not this WE!
I'm rather going to enjoy the wonderful weather foreseen!

Have a good WE!

New Ikea Textile inspired by Frank Josef

Hi!

You know I L.O.V.E. Frank Josef's textiles, right?

So I am super happy about Ikea creating this fun, fresh and colorful fabric :

I totally picture it in Anouk's bedroom! Or to accesorize the living room! Or to create a tipi for my baby girl!

Dear blogfriends,

Hi!

I'm quickly sharing this lovely apartment designed by Clayton Apgar and photographed by the super talented Bethany Nauert.

I have never seen a Eero Saarinen table that looked bad.
NEVER.

Ah! I love this bedroom. This bed is so inviting.
I love the brass sconces.

Happy Easter WE!

Dear blogfriends,

I hope you had a sunny and relaxing long WE.
Mine was perfect.
I was sick as a dog on Friday, but got better on Saturday. So we headed to the Belgian Ardennes and we had a unexpected guest : the SUN!

It was sooooooooooo nice.

This is Anouk's first steps in the woods... hopefully daddy was there!

Horses are so photogenic!

First flowers...

This makes me so happy!
